RCA Community Yard Sales

Next Yard Sale: Saturday, October 4, 2008 - 7:30 am - 1:30 pm, Loehmann's Plaza

The RCA sponsors, in cooperation with Loehmann's Plaza, two Community Yard Sales every year, once in the spring and again in the fall. All residents are invited to participate.

The date and time is always on a Saturday from 8 AM until 1 PM, generally mid-May in the spring and late September or early October in the fall. The exact dates are decided a few months in advance and published in the RCA's newsletter, the ECHO.

There is a charge of $5 for RCA member households and $10 for non-members. This covers the cost of liability insurance that the RCA must carry to hold this public event. Space is allocated by the number of parking spaces, but the charge is the same regardless of the number of spaces used. Most residents use two spaces. Please use no more space than you need. If one space will do, fine. But if you need three, that's OK too.

There is no pre-registration. Simply show up at Loehmann's Plaza and take a parking space or two. You will notice RCA volunteers directing cars on the west side of Boston Chicken adjacent to Randolph Road. Bring your own tables.

There is never a rain date. If inclement weather prevents a good turnout, we simply wait for the next yard sale. In the 10+ years these events have been held, only one has been cancelled.

These events are a great way for all residents to "divest" themselves of unwanted items, and make a little cash (tax-free!) while they're at it. Also a chance to see your neighbors.

The RCA usually sells concessions (sodas, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc) and the management of Loehmann's often provides a face painter and balloon artist as entertainment. The RCA thanks Loehmann's for their community outreach and support of the RCA.
