ATTENTION: Sam's Club Cards
Many members are reporting that their membership cards have been
revoked. This fall, Sams restructured our group membership in a way
that should improve the renewal process in future years. Many members
were assigned new account numbers, and in the process the old accounts
were deleted or "revoked".
Regrettably, we were not informed of the potential inconvenience it
could cause members - particularly those who use other Sam's Club
locations than Gaithersburg or those who have the misfortune to
encounter a Sam's employee who doesn't understand what is going on.
So, next time you go to Sam's Club, PLEASE go to the membership desk
BEFORE you shop to make sure your card is active and to get a new one
of necessary. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may
have experienced.

New School near White Flint - less green space and Rocking Horse would remain closed
MCPS wants to build a new elementary school rather than re-open Rockinghorse. This option reduces green space in the newly planned high density area in and around White Flint and is much more expensive than simply reopening Rockinghorse. Apparently, MCPS number one priority is to avoid changing school boundary lines because of the ruckus that generally accompanies that. Re-opening Rocking Horse would involve moving our community out of the downcounty consortium completely. Opposing this plan for building a new school vs re-opening Rockinghorse can be done by writing to the MC Planning Board - information on how to contact the Board.
A Gazette article explains further.
